SVHEC has been a Cardinal Education partner since the 1980s and 1990s. At that time, SVHEC was a receive site providing southern Virginians with access to graduate engineering programming delivered by satellite.
While the receive site model has been replaced by online course delivery, the Cardinal Education advisory board recognized SVHEC’s unique position within higher education and identified SVHEC as a key partner as it mapped Cardinal Education’s strategic growth and reorganization. SVHEC’s role was expanded within the statewide graduate engineering initiative, with the agency assuming responsibility for several of Cardinal Education’s critical functions.
