Radioactive decay, interaction of charged particles and photons with matter, methods of radiation detection and radiation dosimetry, counting statistics, external radiation protection using time, distance and shielding. This course counts toward the minimum 3 courses in ME/NSEG for the MS in ME, and it is a required course for students that plan to take the NE QE in Spring 2024.
